Obamacare can still be rolled back in 2013, as the recent vote in the Senate to repeal the medical device tax demonstrates. The Affordable Care Act does not make health care more affordable to anyone. This law was passed over the objections of a majority of Americans, and as its rules, restrictions, taxes and penalties go into effect, more fair-weather supporters are discovering that they are among the millions getting shafted by it. Citizens must continue to put pressure on their elected representatives in the House, the Senate and the state mansions, not to give in but to continue rolling back the most damaging aspects of the plan, brick by brick. Between 2002-11 I served as a member of the Los Angeles County Medical Association Board of Directors. I was termed off that board after the nine year maximum in 2011 and no longer serve on it and of course do not speak for it then or now. However, I also served in 2009-10 on its sub-committee to review and report back to the board on all the ObamaCare bills. So, with that committee, I read and studied them all. The sub-committee was balanced and bipartisan, and after detailed study of the bill that finally passed in March, 2010, it unanimously advised the full board to oppose the passage of this unnecessary, destructive and unworkable piece of terrible legislation. Our advise was overwhelmingly adopted by the full board which publicly opposed passage of this law.Since then I have read thousands of pages of commentary on ObamaCare and done dozens of public presentation on it , but this small booklet can be read in an hour or two and is the best, clearest, easiest reading, most accurate distillation of the law I have so far encountered. It should be read by every American who wants to prevent American health care from the drastic deterioration to which ObamaCare dooms us if not repealed. Kudos to Howard Hyde for a job very well done. Now he needs to write a book on the real market solutions to our health care problems.

I have had the privilege of meeting Mr. Hyde. He is a passionate but very calm advocate for the case against obamacare. Upon reading his book, I found it to be the very best, by far, introduction to the topic. Incisive, accurate and revealing. It is remarkable how he has covered all the bases. Congratulations to him.

As a defector from then communist Czechoslovakia I can vouch for the validity of author's warnings. I lived through a kind of healthcare Obama tries to impose on us. You want to experience Obama care on your own?....Move to North Korea or Cuba...enjoy!
In a rush to "do something" that sounded good, the Democratic leaders in Congress forced Obamacare through the legislative process without thoughtful analysis or debate. In his witty and thought-provoking pamphlet, Howard Hyde describes in a clear and straightforward way the serious flaws in Obamacare and exposes the myth that the legislation will make health care better or more affordable. His pamphlet is a quick and worthwhile read for any American voter who wants to stay informed.
A must read for the informed American citizen
A brilliant expose of Obamacare and how it runs contrary to sound economic principles and individual freedom. With good common sense and a measured dose of wit and humor, Hyde presents a wealth of well researched facts and a solid understanding of the current political trends. The reader will who wishes to be a well informed and active participant in the debate over the affordable care act would do well to read this book.
Seriously, this is all the information anyone could possibly need to know in summary form. It explains the deceptions but also tells why socialized medicine not only doesn't 'work' but is very harmful to everyone involved in it. I would highly recommend this book to everyone who cares about this issue.
This book was somewhat helpful. More uglies are still to come out of the closet on O'care. This book may help you to decide whether you will be better off in the long run or not. Don't wait too long to form an opinion. You may lose your chance to be heard as the O'care plan is relentlessly moving forward.
I should have read the "About the author" before reading the "pamphlet" which was really just an uninformed, vague statistic-driven opinion. I don't know anything about Obamacare, and was looking to become informed about it, not looking to read some random person's personal opinion about something they don't even factually know about! I was led to this "pamphlet" as a purchase suggestion from the page of a book written by a woman who is one of the only known people to have actually READ the Obamacare stipulations in their entirety! Wish I would have bought that instead. /
